中的研究表明这（假设）是对的。
---- 不是这个假设本身，是“孩子们会有这个假设”的假设

All the children were told to let the experimenter know when they had finished playing
所有孩子都被告知，当他们结束玩耍时要告诉示范老师【实验人员】，

Generalising from that would be ambitious.
由此得出的归纳总结【概括】可能有点做作【太大胆性急】。

-----should be interpreted as:
Yet (we may have a hypothesis that) the efficient learning of specific facts may lead to (that children may have ) the assumption that when the adult has finished teaching, there is nothing further to learn—because if there were, the adult would have said so.
----hence:
the "that" in "that is true" refers to the hypothesis, not the assumption.

总体来说不错，下面发表一下我的看法，欢迎指正

1、第一段的前面两句翻译成中文时顺序应该调换一下，更符合中文的表达习惯，也更通顺。

2、 the efficient learning：直译成“高效的学习”不是不行，不过觉得有点怪，我自己是翻译成learn quickly，与前面一句对应。

3、对具体事物的高效率学习也许导致“孩子们会有这个假设”的假设：中文读起来比较拗口，你看看下面这样会不会通顺些 “对具体事物的高效率学习会造成以下可能”

4、第四段第一句理解有些不对，不是安排让孩子们带着玩具参观博物馆，而是在孩子参观博物馆时，安排了玩具给他们的意思

5、inverting mirror：我们小时候都玩过，哈哈镜 、

6、 the number of different actions the child performed：是本文的一个难点，action这里是指组成玩具的不同部件，她们研究的是孩子们究竟玩了几个部件，而不是孩子们做了几个动作或行为。图片上的玩具是由几个管子的部件组合而成，也可以说明这一点。下一段的tried out four different actions也是如此。

7、ambitious：能理解到“仓促”这层的意思已经相当不错，不过还是不对。ambitious这里的意思是耗费大量的时间、精力或财力的意思，查查字典就有了。也因此下面一句的开头用了but（应该翻译成尽管如此）。

8、might be quite a good idea. 我觉得翻译成“好主意，好想法”不是不行，但似乎也是不符合中文的说法，我个人觉得意译会更好。我自己最后的两句翻译是“归纳出以上结论要耗费大量的时间和精力。尽管如此，进一步的研究还是十分令人期待。”

Generalising from that would be ambitious. But it suggests that further research might be quite a good idea.
我认为应该翻译为 从此得出的结论是有力的。但是也许进一步研究可能会有更好的答案
