Oct 10th 2011, 8:22 by N.B. | LONDON

Any actor who doesn’t want to reek of despair should avoid such self-mockery at all costs
mockery:  an imitation or pretence, esp a derisive one

Appearing in a pastiche of one of your earlier films is never a wise move.

1)007 spoof,
Spoof From Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaJump to: navigation, search
Look up spoof in Wiktionary, the free dictionary.
Spoof, spoofs, spoofer, or spoofing may refer to:
Parody by imitation
2) parodying herself.
A parody (pronounced /ˈpærədi/; also called send-up, spoof or lampoon), in current usage, is an imitative work created to mock, comment on, or trivialise an original work, its subject, author, style, or some other target, by means of humorous, satiric or ironic imitation. As the literary theorist Linda Hutcheon puts it, "parody … is imitation, not always at the expense of the parodied text." Another critic, Simon Dentith, defines parody as "any cultural practice which provides a relatively polemical allusive imitation of another cultural production or practice." Parody may be found in art or culture, including literature, music (although "parody" in music has an earlier, somewhat different meaning than for other art forms), animation, gaming and film.
3) pastiche of one of your earlier films
In this usage, the term denotes a literary technique employing a generally light-hearted tongue-in-cheek imitation of another's style; although jocular, it is usually respectful.
For example, many stories featuring Sherlock Holmes, originally created by Arthur Conan Doyle, have been written as pastiches since the author's time.[1][2] Ellery Queen and Nero Wolfe are other popular subjects of mystery parodies and pastiches.[3]

4)he’d sent up that role not once but twice,
send-up or send•up (s nd  p )
n. Informal
An amusing imitation or parody; a takeoff: "The absurd trial is, of course, a send-up of the Dublin courts" (New Yorker).

Rule Two: Don’t do a horror film unless you’re the monster. Horror audiences come to see the villains, and they come back again when those villains are in the sequels.

To make a brief appearance, as in a film: She cameoed as Anne Boleyn in A Man for All Seasons.
