Dezazer提出的意见很细心，也很中肯，指出的问题值得楼主仔细考虑。
1、“too many to fall”确实是指中小企业数量庞大，牵涉面太广，出现倒闭潮则不堪设想。译成“多而不倒”很不好，不能因为拘泥语言的形式而过于偏离本意，还望楼主三思。
2、“special investment vehicles”字面意思是特别投资工具，是个泛指的概念；在上下文里有它特指的含义，其实就是“Structured investment vehicle（SIV）”，金融领域很常见的概念：由银行等金融机构设立，发行短期商业票据融资并投资于包括次级债在内的高回报资产。
3、 index futures词典里当然是“指数期货”，在中国普遍的叫法是“股指期货”；informal lending sectors 译成民间借贷，记住这个表达，可以做出非常地道的汉译英，相信我：）
4、They must overcome meddling from above as well as crises brewing below。试译：他们不得不上面领导，下应危机。/他们既要应付来自领导的干涉，又得面对金融市场暗流涌动的危机。
5、publicly-listed state-controlled banks国有上市银行；Several publicly-listed state-controlled banks unveiled impressive third-quarter profits 几家国有上市银行公布了第三季度利润，业绩骄人。
6、concern，搞清主语以后可以名词动译：一方面他们担心……另一方面也担心……
