Macdonald Mutekwa
Biography
Macdonald Mutekwa is a First-Class Aeronautical Engineering graduate from the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. During his undergraduate studies, he served on the International Student Representative Council and received the CSC Outstanding International Student award and scholarship among other academic honours. Macdonald is an avid researcher in machine design and aerodynamics with a vision to contribute to establishing Africa as a key player in the aerospace industry. He is passionate about utilising drone and satellite GIS technology towards information-driven approaches to agriculture and environmental conservation in Africa as steps in pursuit of his vision. At Oxford, he intends to pursue flow control aerodynamics research towards efficient turbomachinery and flight vehicle design through the DPhil in Engineering Science. Having led humanitarian initiatives in both Zimbabwe and China, Mutekwa is fervent to continue to walk the journey from compassion to action through charitable work and innovation – “For others and with others.”
