Biography
Max is currently completing his honours project in Statistics, which has involved the modelling of wind measurements on Australia's North-West Shelf. At Oxford, Max plans to investigate how we can use statistical modelling and machine learning to tackle environmental challenges. When not studying, Max can usually be found at the beach, where he is a patrol captain and trains as a surf ironman. Competing in surf sports, Max is a four-time representative of the Western Suns State Team and has won state and national titles in the Champion Lifesaver event. While at university, he has also been a member of the executive of Ignite Mentoring, a volunteer not-for-profit organisation that provides mentoring programs to students in lower socio-economic areas.
