Ikran Jama
Biography
Ikran is completing a double major in Criminology & Socio-legal Studies and International Relations with a minor in African Studies at Victoria College. Ikran is two-term President of the Arts and Science Students' Union, where she advocates on behalf of over 27,000 students. A current mentor for Somali youth and previous fellow at the Mosaic Institute, Ikran is passionate about amplifying the voices of marginalized and underrepresented communities. A proud Somali-Canadian, Ikran is interested in researching how the law affects the lives of immigrant and refugee youth. She hopes to one day apply her studies to advance criminal justice reforms at home and abroad. At Oxford, Ikran seeks to continue exploring the relationships between migration and the law through studies in Criminology & Criminal Justice.
