Kylie de Chastelain
Biography
Kylie is completing the Honours year of her BA in Canadian Studies, with a double major in Sociology. She has a deep interest in First Nations issues in northern Canada and issues related to aboriginal peoples internationally. In her time at Mount Allison, Kylie has been very involved in the University Choral Society, Global Brigades, and the Mount Allison Students' Union, where she served a term as Vice-President Academic Affairs. Through Global Brigades, Kylie has volunteered in Honduras, and will travel there again this winter with the Microfinance Brigade. She has also spent time in the Northwest Territories with Aboriginal elders. Kylie is currently an intern in both Academic Support Services and the Centre for Canadian Studies at Mount Allison. A member of the British Association of Teachers of Dance, Kylie enjoys highland dancing, skiing and debating. In the long term, Kylie envisages a career path in diplomacy and politics.
