SOME YOUNGER POETS

Gloria tua he was singing in a voice so loud
it split my ears on my car radio. I thought
about the open deep emotions I feel now this
time of year; the dark, its candles, its hush
and glory. The light was green, I drove on; his
voice filled my whole head. A police car
ignoring the red light pushes noses
the intersection: I dare him proceeding but
fear he will hit me; stop;
see his lights flash blue white blue
before my hood,
his round muscle face, fist yelling, wordless,
hear nothing: the deep voice of the tenor.
The gesture of his shouting makes him move,
huge chest, face as if he chewed
something impossibly stuck
to his teeth: up, snarl, down;
a flash of hurt and anger,
I realize that he is screaming at me. Behind him a dark
red fire engine, square, waits
to get through the intersection.

格洛丽亚-图阿，他用如此响亮的声音唱歌
它在我的汽车收音机上把我的耳朵震裂了。我想
我想到了现在这个时候我所感受到的开放的深层情感
一年中的这个时候；黑暗，它的蜡烛，它的嘘声
和荣耀。绿灯亮了，我继续开车；他的声音充斥着我的整个脑袋。
的声音充满了我的整个脑袋。一辆警车
无视红灯，推着鼻子走来走去
的十字路口。我敢于让他继续前进，但
担心他会撞到我；停下来。
看到他的车灯闪烁着蓝白蓝
在我的引擎盖前。
他圆圆的肌肉脸，拳头大叫，无声无息。
什么也听不见：男高音的低沉声音。
他喊叫的手势使他动了起来。
巨大的胸膛，脸就像他咀嚼着
一些不可能粘住的东西
他的牙齿：向上，咆哮，向下。
一阵阵的伤害和愤怒。
我意识到，他是在对我大喊大叫。在他身后，一辆暗红色的
红色的消防车，方形的，等待着
等着通过十字路口。
